Poor…A word that typically has a negative connotation. As a society, we idealize the rich and many
times strive to be like them and have more money. The bigger the house, the luxury car, the
name brand clothes seem to hold great importance. The poor are considered to be less fortunate
than those “better off”. Yet, in
Proverbs it notes “Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is Maker of them
all.” (22:2) It does not matter how much or how little we have; we all have the
same Maker. There is comfort in knowing
that our earthly possessions do not define us.
Our Maker created all and He died for all!
