Patient...
Being patient isn't always easy to do. To listen to the little kids, Christmas will never get here! However, being patient is worthwhile! James 5:7-8 states, "Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand." A farmer that is patient will harvest a valuable crop. However, the farmer doesn't just sit around waiting for the valuable crop to be done. The farmer puts a great amount of work into the crop so when the time is right the crop will produce abundantly. We are waiting for the Lord to return, but that doesn't mean we just sit back and do nothing. Yes, Christ has paid the price for us and we can do nothing to contribute to our salvation. Yet, there is so much to do while we are waiting for Jesus to return. In James it notes to establish our hearts. Establish your heart through scripture so you know who you are waiting for. Make Jesus the center of your life. We also need to let everyone know who we are waiting for and why! One day Jesus will return and it is then we will receive the gift we have been patiently waiting for...eternal salvation.
