Advent Photo-A-Day...Day 13

Justice...

One of the definitions of justice is to administer deserved punishment.  Imagine the justice we deserve because we cannot keep the law perfectly.  Because we cannot keep the law perfectly we will face punishment for that.  In fact, we will face the punishment of death.  "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23).  We will also face discipline because we have done wrong.  BUT...we face discipline because God loves us. "For the Lord disciplines the one He loves" (Hebrews 12:6)  It definitely is not fun but it is in our best interest. "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:11)

The justice we really deserve is eternal death. However, we don't have to face eternal death because we have a Savior; a Savior that took the punishment for us.  We will not be subject to eternal death because of what He has done for us!  The second half of Romans 6:23 is  "But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Savannah has experienced discipline and I took a picture of her unhappiness.  It wasn't long and she was smiling again.  We can smile too because of the free gift we have been given!

Thank you God for sending your Son for us!
